    Description

    Bluntnose Sixgill (Cow) Shark Jaws.
    The jaws measure appx 28” Wide from edge to edge and about 12” from top to bottom. This set is from a female Sixgill (the teeth are more broad).
    This is a very large specimen, and the species is generally rare to see in taxidermy. This shark had relatives dating back to the Triassic and today is one of a few sharks with gills numbering greater than 5.
    This particular set came from a local Antique Shell shop owner/collector, who obtained it over 30 years ago from the Philippines.
    It was on display for a long time but is in great shape. There is some dirt/dust in some crevices (hard to reach areas) but otherwise it is a fine display piece, with nearly all teeth accounted for. Please see photos for details.
