Description
This is a very neat, original 1912 advertising giveaway coloring book or story book titled "The Adventure of Ceresota.
" It was written by Marshall Whitlatch and illustrated by Alice Sargent Johnson. This must have been a premium that was given from Ceresota Flour (Northwestern Consolidated Milling Company, Minneapolis).
The book measures 6" x 8" with 48 pages. There are 12 color plates and 12 identical plates for coloring. Each illustration has directions on the reverse side on how to color the image using Japanese water colors. Overall condition is very nice; it does have a vertical crease on the cover that goes through each page. It must have got bent at one time but still lies flat. The spine has about a 1.5" tear but still attached firmly. The front cover has a girl's name "
Hilda Noll
" written in pencil. This came out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania area.
